Punjab Introduces Online Biometric Vehicle Verification via PAK-ID

The Punjab Excise & Taxation Department has introduced a new digital initiative to simplify vehicle biometric verification, making the process easier for both local residents and overseas Pakistanis.

Under the new system, vehicle owners can now complete biometric verification online through PAK-ID, in collaboration with NADRA, eliminating the need to visit excise offices or rely on agents.

Digital Verification for Locals and Overseas Pakistanis

With this update, NIC holders and NICOP holders can verify their vehicles remotely using PAK-ID. The move is especially beneficial for overseas Pakistanis who previously had to go through lengthy procedures involving affidavits and embassy attestations.

Now, verification can be completed from home in just a few steps, making the process faster and more user-friendly.

End of Manual and Embassy-Based Procedures

Earlier, overseas vehicle owners were required to submit attested affidavits verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Pakistani embassies, a process that often caused delays and inconvenience.

The new biometric system removes these manual requirements, bringing greater transparency, efficiency, and convenience to vehicle ownership verification in Punjab.

Why This Matters for Vehicle Owners

This initiative is a major step toward digital governance and offers several benefits:

1. No need to visit excise offices
2. Reduced dependency on middlemen
3. Faster and more secure verification
4. Easy access for overseas Pakistanis
